Privacy Policy

Effective August 6, 2026 · Last updated August 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Dashwood, operated by Ryan Stefan ("Dashwood," "I," or "me"), handles personal information when you visit dashwood.net, contact me, engage me for services, or make a payment.

Information I collect

  • Contact and project information: your name, email address, company or website, project description, requested timeline, and anything else you include in the contact form or later messages.
  • Client and service information: proposals, contracts, scopes of work, project communications, deliverables, support history, and related business records.
  • Payment and transaction information: billing contact details, invoice details, amounts, currency, payment status, and transaction identifiers. Stripe collects and processes your payment method details directly. Dashwood does not store your full card number or card security code.
  • Website and analytics information: pages visited, referring pages, approximate location, device and browser information, IP address, and interaction data collected through server logs, cookies, and Google Analytics.

Why I use this information

I use personal information to:

  • respond to inquiries, prepare proposals, and communicate with you;
  • provide project, consulting, and software-development services;
  • issue invoices, process payments and refunds, and maintain records;
  • protect the website, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes;
  • understand site performance and improve the website and services; and
  • comply with tax, accounting, contractual, and legal obligations.

I do not sell personal information. Information submitted for an inquiry is not used for unrelated marketing without your permission.

Who processes or receives information

I disclose information only as needed to operate Dashwood, provide the services you request, complete payments, or comply with law. Providers may include:

  • Stripe: processes payments, refunds, and related fraud prevention and compliance information. Stripe handles payment data under its own Privacy Policy.
  • Email and hosting providers: deliver contact-form submissions, host the website, and support project communications.
  • Google Analytics: provides website traffic and usage analytics using cookies and similar technologies.
  • Professional advisers and authorities: receive information when reasonably necessary for accounting, legal advice, enforcing agreements, protecting rights, or responding to lawful requests.

These providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate.

How long I retain information

  • Contact-form inquiries that do not become client engagements are generally retained for up to 24 months after the last communication.
  • Contracts, project records, invoices, and transaction records are generally retained for up to seven years after the engagement ends to meet business, tax, accounting, and legal requirements.
  • Routine technical logs are generally retained for up to 90 days, and analytics event data is retained for up to 14 months.

Information may be kept longer when required by law, needed to resolve a dispute, or reasonably necessary to establish or defend legal claims. It may be deleted or de-identified earlier when it is no longer needed.

Cookies and analytics choices

dashwood.net uses cookies or similar technologies for website analytics. You can limit cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies should not prevent you from viewing the site or submitting the contact form.

Your privacy choices

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information I hold about you, or object to or restrict certain uses. I will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity. Some records may need to be retained for legal, accounting, security, or contractual reasons.

Security

I use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information involved. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Children's privacy

The website and services are intended for businesses and adults and are not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy as the website, services, or legal requirements change. The updated date at the top of this page will show when the latest revision took effect.
